There are three ways to request copies of court records:
- In person: Bring the completed records request form to the Clerk's Office at Room 209. Payment is accepted by cash, credit card, or check. If you need records mailed to you, bring a self-addressed stamped envelope.
- By mail: Send the completed form with a check made out to Del Norte Superior Court (memo line: "not to exceed $100.00") and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Del Norte Superior Court, ATTN: Records Request, 450 H Street, Room 209, Crescent City, CA 95531.
- By email: Submit the completed form to records@delnorte.courts.ca.gov. Do not include payment details in your email. The court will send a payment confirmation email before processing. Allow up to 14 business days for all request methods. Certified copies cannot be delivered by email.
Copy fees: $15–$40 for application fees on certified court records; $0.50 per page for additional copies. Government agencies may submit fax requests for criminal case records only.
Are Court Records Public in Del Norte County?
California law establishes a strong presumption of openness for court records.
